Standardized or Creative?

Although I think the standardized testing debate has been beaten to death, I offer this brief analogy after considering the art displays at my dyad placement.

If all of our teaching focused on standardized, multiple choice, repetitive activities and assessments, what would our students produce?

Maybe something like this:
